A poem by Young Voices Lesotho

Disability is not inability

I am full of quantity

Waiting to show my quality

As I push for equality

Please see behind my disability

Is ached hidden full of potentiality

If you only give me a share equality

You will see my skill and ability

For my disability should not become in ability

My disability is not infectious neither is it mentally?

Or physical illness, my medical treatment is as simple as yours have right to social security

For my disability is defiantly not at all inability

Young Voices speaking out on employment and poverty

Young Voices Lesotho met with the Ministry of Social Development to discuss the rate of unemployment and poverty for people with disabilities. As a result, the Ministry held a breakfast meeting with local companies to encourage them to hire more people with disabilities. They also agreed to provide funding for people with disabilities to start their own businesses.
